25th Anniversary Celebration: SPANISH DAY: Cervantes Drama Festival & Grant Award Ceremony of Consulate General of Spain for Students of Spanish in MUST

Spanish Day at MUST University International College is an annual flagship event integrating the Cervantes Drama Festival and Grant Award Ceremony of Consulate General of Spain for Students of Spanish in MUST, promoting Spanish language education and cultural exchange. Since 2014, the Drama Festival has empowered Spanish majors to create original or adapted theatrical works, competing for eight awards including Best Actor and Best Script under faculty evaluation. This platform enhances students' linguistic proficiency, teamwork, and cross-cultural competence through immersive theatrical production.

Grant Award Ceremony of Consulate General of Spain for Students of Spanish in MUST, awarded for eight consecutive years, honor three outstanding senior students annually. Consul General personally presents the awards, recognizing MUST's achievements in Hispanic cultural education. Cultural exhibitions during the event highlight Macau's unique role as a bridge between Chinese and Spanish-speaking communities.

By synergizing academic rigor with artistic innovation, the event fosters global-minded multilingual talents while strengthening East-West cultural dialogue. The dual components—creative performance and academic recognition—create a dynamic ecosystem for language mastery and cultural understanding. Participants gain practical experience in scriptwriting, stagecraft, and intercultural communication, preparing them for international careers. The Consulate's sustained partnership underscores the growing importance of Spanish language competencies in Greater Bay Area development. As a signature internationalization initiative, Spanish Day exemplifies MUST's commitment to cultivating graduates capable of navigating multicultural environments through innovative pedagogical approaches.
